Rule of The Order of Mission

The Rule of The Order of Mission is being developed in these years. So far it emphasizes:

  1. "Prayer" - Daily rythm of prayer

  2. "Pattern" - Lifeshapes as a set of tools to help us live out the vows and our mission.

  3. "People" - Fellowship and accountability with other TOM members

  4. "Purpose" - Missional zeal in our daily lives

Lifeshapes is not a philosophy or a programme but rather a set of tools which embody what it is to be a follower of Jesus and to pattern our lives after him. Lifeshapes are powerless unless put into practice and it is expected that an Order member will be well grounded in their use.

Here is a quick overview of Lifeshapes

  • The Circle : Listening to God’s voice and responding obediently (Mark 1:15)

  • The Triangle : Balanced and deep relationships (Luke 6:12-19)

  • The Semi-Circle : Kingdom-oriented rhythms of life around Rest and Work (John 15:1-8)

  • The Square : Multiplying the life of Jesus into the lives of others (Mark 1, Luke 12, John 15, Matthew 28)

  • The Pentagon : Personal Calling (APEST) (Ephesians 4:7, 11-13)

  • The Hexagon : Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)

  • The Heptagon : Organic Health

  • The Octagon : Relational Mission
